Welcome to Trackers! This wiki is about playing the Game of Tracking with kids. It can include pro tips on what to pack, skills you can train, and even how to share the skills we teach. Here is are some good places to start:

The Game of Tracking

What is the Game of Tracking? It's a way of nature connection that inspires, motivates, and energizes youth to organize into self-directed Trackers Teams. The Game of Tracking prepares youth for a lifetime of adventure and connection to family, nature, and many generations.

Trackers Code

The heart of our Teams is the Trackers Code—a set of values leading to deeper benefits for your child, family, and the more than human world. The Trackers Code is made up of the Mission, Purpose, Compass, and Action Call.

Village

Every human in the Game of Tracking is called a Tracker. A Tracker is mindful, always observing the world around them. A Tracker pays attention to subtle clues and seeks out how to be truly helpful. A Tracker adventures by the Trackers Code. Youth in the Game of Tracking are players on a Trackers Team. While roles of adults are Guide, Guardian, and Elder. Meanwhile, other players, places, and pieces in the Game of Tracking include a Camp, Þhing (Thing), and Story Basket.

Elements

Elements are the skills we train to be Ready with our Trackers Team. Core Elements every Trackers must develop. [[Guild Elements expand the Game of Tracking through the crafts and philosophies for the Four Guilds. Trail Elements outline the philosophy, learning methods, and story mythology of Trackers.

Core Elements

Core Elements involve what a Tracker needs to know to play the Game of Tracking. They comprise core routines that turn your awareness to the greater connection and the unknown.

Expanded Elements

  • Guild Elements Guild Elements expand the Game of Tracking into the Four Guilds. This includes Rangers Guild Wilders Guild, Mariners Guild, and Artisans Guild.
  • Trail Elements Trail Elements are about how a Tracker learns and connects to nature and the world. It goes in-depth into the philosophy of Tracking, the Four Guilds, and Mythmaking and Storytelling.
  • Family Elements Family Elements are key methods families can utilize to support youth in their journey through the Game of Tracking. It includes key and essential pathways for Villages, Connection, Guides, Guardians, and Elders

Guide Elements

Guide Village

Ways for Guides to stay connected as Trackers.

  • Village Nights A weekly series of four evening meetups training Trackers Elements (skills), ending with a village potluck celebration.
  • Outdoor Elements A monthly program in the field training Trackers Elements (skills).

Safety & Quality Guide

The Safety & Quality Guide features all of Trackers Earth's policies to create and produce safe and quality experiences for players in the Game of Tracking. All Guides are required to follow its procedures. see also Covid Protocols

Adventure

Adventures include Games, Activities, and Explorations. They further the Game of Tracking to train Core and Guild Elements. Games also include long-form Story Guides.
