Village Nights

Village Nights are a chance to learn new skills and connect with our community. They are four weekly evenings featuring a Core Theme. Series topics can include survival, tracking, mentoring, wild plants, and more.

Village Nights

Village Nights are open to all educators interested in sharing Trackers Elements (skills) through teaching. It can include past, present, and future Trackers staff, outdoor educators from other organizations, elders, and subject matter experts. We focus on how to apply Outdoor Elements when mentoring youth and adults.

How It Works

A series of Village Nights occur over 4 evenings. Each night has 3 sections: Urban Tracking, Elements Training & Storytelling. There is free time throughout to connect and network with friends, colleagues, and leadership. Participants can arrive anytime in the evening.

• Urban Tracking Explore outdoors in tracking teams, playing Urban Tracking and Stealth Games to hone our awareness.
• Elements Training Start a new skill. Learn and practice bow drill, pitch a proper tarp, use a compass and more.
• Storytelling/Preparation Welcome Experienced Trackers and Elders to share inspiring and informative stories and presentation. This is also time to prepare for free training and enrichment Expeditions.

Portland Village Nights

Tuesdays, 5:15 PM - 7:30 PM. Fall 2021 - Spring 2022:

• Series 1 Survival: September 21 - October 12 (every Tuesday)
• Series 2 Tracking: October 19 - November 9 (every Tuesday)
• Series 3 Mentoring: November 16 - December 14 (every Tuesday, except Thanksgiving Week)

East Bay Village Nights
