Scarlet kingsnakes are NON-venomous snakes with black, red, and yellow bands around their bodies. A group of scarlet kingsnakes have gathered for a party and are enthusiastically greeting each other. Little do they know that a murderous coral snake - a VENOMOUS snake that ALSO has black, red, and yellow bands and looks very similar to a scarlet kingsnake - has snuck into the party and is gradually killing everyone! Can the kingsnakes figure out who the coral snake is before it's too late?

Action Call

As the kingsnake, can you use your awareness to figure out who the coral snake is? As the coral snake, can you be sneaky and strategic as you poison the kingsnakes to avoid being caught?

Mission

Everyone stands in a circle and closes their eyes. A Pathfinder walks around the outside of the circle and secretly touches one person on the back to make them the coral snake. Everyone else is a kingsnake.

The Pathfinder says "open your eyes," and everyone mingles randomly, introducing themselves to other people and shaking hands. The coral snake acts exactly like the kingsnakes, except when they shake people's hands, they can wiggle their middle finger on the other person's palm to "bite" and poison them (the coral snake doesn't have to bite EVERY person they shake hands with; they can choose who to bite). A kingsnake who has been bitten must pretend that nothing has happened, shake hands with TWO MORE people as normal, then dramatically "die" by falling to the ground, laying still for a moment, then getting up and moving to the outside of the group to watch the game as a "ghost."

Unbitten kingsnakes try to identify the coral snake by making an accusation. To make an accusation, one kingsnake raises their hand and says, "I have an accusation!" At this, a Pathfinder starts counting down from five. Within the five seconds, another kingsnake has to say "me, too!" If no one does, the accuser dies. If another kingsnake DOES say "me, too" within the five seconds, a Pathfinder counts down "3, 2, 1, point," and at "point" both accusers point a finger at the person they think is the coral snake. If the accusers point to DIFFERENT people, they both immediately die. If the accusers point to the SAME person, that person must reveal if they are the coral snake. If they are NOT, the accusers immediately die. If they ARE, the game is over.
