The heart of our Teams is the Trackers Code. The Code is an accord all Trackers agree to follow attending our program. We don’t expect youth to live their entire life by the Code. We do expect them to embody it while playing the Game of Tracking. They may adopt parts of or the entire Trackers Code or part of it as their own, or they may surprise with something new and wonderful. The Trackers Code is simply a “practice code”, one where kids learn that having a greater goal in life leads to greater resilience and perseverance.

A map of the Trackers Compass

The Trackers Compass is the heart of our Teams. All Trackers agree to follow the compass when attending a program. It’s where youth learn that having a greater goal in life leads to deeper perseverance and strength. Youth crave responsibility and want to mirror the care we give them as Guides, Guardians, and Elders.

The Compass is made up of the Mission, Purpose, Code, and Action Call.

Mission

The Trackers mission is simple. Its meant to let youth knew we care about their future and the future of world we live. We’re here to:

Protect the Village in any way you can.

Restore the earth to help nature.

Respect the Waters to adapt to the wilderness.

Remember our story and share it with the world.

The Relic associated with the Mission is the Band. Read more about the Mission.

Purpose

The Purpose is a map to the world we’re saving. Letting youth know we rely on them taps into deeper wells of resilience and grit. A Tracker cares for four layers:

Care for Family whatever form it takes.

Care for the More Than Human World to include every aspect of nature.

Care for Many Generations Beyond Us for those who come before and after.

Care for the Silent & Invisible A Tracker values and provides for that which is quiet.

The Relic associated with the Purpose is the Hearthstone. Read more about the Purpose.

Code

If the Purpose is a map for the Game of Tracking, we find our way with the Code. It guides the Tracker in four points of awareness:

Pay Attention to the world and its wonderful puzzles by tracking.

Be Truly Helpful to become a true caretaker for everyone.

Flow with Nature to become part of everything.

Your doing it Wrong, Do it Better to always improve.

Action Call

While a Tracker navigates with the Compass, they need an Action Call to start them on this journey. The Action Call are four essential character traits:

Be Ready by training in essential outdoor skills.

Be a Caretaker by caring for other people, creatures, and many generations.

Be Gritty by staying strong and persevering whenever challenges arise.

Be a Team by working together with friends for the greater good.

Trackers Tip You can also say, Be a Ready Caretaker. Be a Gritty Team.

Agreements: World Saving

By attending Trackers, youth, Guides, and Guardians all agree to follow the Trackers Compass.
